As trade talks and free agency gossip heats up before the NHL Draft and the begining of the offseason, two players who seemed to be getting a lot of attention have seen the rumors slowly fading away.
At the begining of this season, all the talking in St. Louis was about Tarasenko, his contract situation and how he was unhappy with how the team medical doctors wanted to deal with his injury.
After this year's end of season presser in St. Louis however, GM Doug Armstrong maintained that the Russian was not going anywhere.

On the Jets side of things, their main man Mark Scheifele made headlines after he eluded his time in Winnipeg may be over after the teams disappointing season.
A month ago NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Scheifele had never asked for a trade out of Winnipeg. It seems evident now he won't be going anywhere as he himself has admitted that his comments made at the end of the season were spoken out of emotional frustration rather than fact.
Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has even recently announced that the team fully expects the 29-year-old center to return next season.
With these guys off the trade block, Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher can focus more on free agents rather than trading the youth away.
