As one of the most exciting and unexpected trade deadlines unfold, three former Flyers ended up finding new homes.

Defenseman Luke Schenn who was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008 fifth overall, ended up going full circle and coming back to the Maple Leafs after being moved by the Vancouver Canucks. The cost was a third-round draft pick in 2023. Schenn expressed his excitement about returning to his former roots and is expected to join the lineup tonight against the Calgary Flames.
Forward Jakub Voracek, who has sustained over 8 concussions was moved from the Blue Jackets to the Arizona Coyotes. As many have seen most of the players that have either retired or have severe injuries have been moved to the coyotes this season was sent along with a sixth-round draft pick for goaltender John Gillies. With the nature of his injuries, it's
highly likely that Voracek will never play hockey again.

Finally, former flyer defenseman Shane Gostisbehere was moved from the Coyotes to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a third-round draft pick. He is currently in his final year of a six-year contract which holds a $4.5 million cap hit and will be unrestricted at the end of the season. The Hurricanes did not retain any salary as they feel the full weight of his cap yet.
With all these former Flyers on the move, likely, forward James van Riemsdyk and defenseman Justin Braun will also move as the Flyers continue to look for ways to reshape their lineup and begin the rebuilding process that was promised by general manager Chuck Fletcher.
The trade deadline will end at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 4th
