The Philadelphia Flyers were in Hurricane Country Thursday night in PNC Arena to face the Carolina Hurricanes.
On paper this was an obvious mismatch but the Flyers did lose, but not as bad as expected. That's thanks to Felix Sandstrom who was outstanding making 29 saves. The only goal to beat him was the winner on the power play by Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov.
The Flyers would get shutout 1-0 but didn't put up much effort only having 19 shots total. After the game Flyers head coach John Tortorella would make a prediction no coach should be making suggesting the Flyers won't win again the rest of the season:
Must read on FlyersInsider
John Tortorella: «I don't know what else to tell ya. We don't make enough plays, we haven't made enough plays and we probably won't the rest of the year.»
We hope that's not true but the way the team's been playing I wouldn't be surprised.
