A somber mood envelops the world of hockey as we remember Adam Johnson, a former NHL player who tragically lost his life during a game in the UK's Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Johnson, who had appeared in 13 NHL games for the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 201819 and 201920 seasons, suffered a catastrophic injury while playing for the Nottingham Panthers against the Sheffield Steelers.

This heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the game's second period, where Johnson sustained a severe neck injury from a skate blade. Despite the swift response from medical teams, his injuries proved fatal. The Nottingham Panthers conveyed this devastating news through their official Twitter account.
Known as Number 47, Johnson was not only a talented hockey player but also an exceptional teammate and an individual with a promising future ahead.
