Earlier today Flyers Insider reported the tragic news of the passing captain of the Ayr Centennials Eli Palfreyman. The 20 year-old junior B Player from Ayr Ontario there wasn't much reported at the time other than he passed away last night.

We have now got a update courtesy of NHL News Updates. Here's what they shared:
The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is mourning today following the death of a 20 year old during a hockey tournament.

Eli Palfreyman, captain of the Ayr Centennials has died during a pre-season tournament in the small Ontario town of Ayr.

Palfreyman was named captain of the team just 5 days ago and was officially introduced with the C prior to the tournament beginning, and could not be more excited with the opportunity.

Unfortunately Palfreyman had his run cut short, as the 20 year old collapsed during the team's dressing room at the 1st intermission and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. The team later announced that they had lost 1 of their own and the tournament had been postponed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Eli's family during this difficult time.
