During this year's NHL draft, Danny Briere made a number of excellent picks, of which Matvei Michkov was undoubtedly one of his best.

Among the names that haven't been explored yet is Carson Bjarnason, who is the Canadian goalie for the Brandon Wheat Kings.
As part of the trade, Briere will trade a 2nd round pick in next year's draft to the Chicago Blackhawks for the selection of Bjarnason at No. 51. He was third in saves in the WHL with the Wheat Kings, and he had a combined GAA of 3.08 and a save percentage of .900.
According to Brent Flahr, the Assistant General Manager of the Flyers, the team had decided to acquire a goalie in this year's draft. As a result, the team chose Bjarnarson as their pick at the 51st spot.

Due to his high rating in the draft, the Flyers were happy to select him as one of the top goalies in the draft. In addition to his strong puck-tracking skills, he is also described as having excellent post-to-post movement.
It may be the case that the Flyers made the biggest steal of the draft with the selection of Bjarnason, who in the future may prove to be a Hockey Canada goalkeeper.
