Was this mistake the biggest Fletcher made since the start of his tenure as the Flyers' GM?

One of the biggest issue, when the Flyers have all their players healthy, is the lack of pure talent on the roster. Last offseason, the team has the opportunities to get that superstar that would've have improve the team a lot.
However, Fletcher didn't make any big move last summer to improve his attack. Vladimir Tarasenko was available. He couldn't put his hands on him. Jack Eichel was available. He couldn't put his hands on him neither.
When you look at the price the Golden Knights paid for Eichel, the Flyers could have easily match that. Also, acquiring Jack Eichel would have solved the problem at center.
The Flyers would have had a center line composed by Jack Eichel, Sean Couturier and Kevin Hayes. That's pretty good, if you want my opinion. Also, Claude Giroux would probably still be a Flyer if Eichel was a part of the organization.
