We Are..Pennslyvania: The Dream Location for the Battle of PA. Whats the hold up?

Beaver Stadium, the home of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Best Damn football team ever (We Are..). Where "White Out" nights are a thing and beating Ohio State University is a must- every year.
Penn State University is the home to some great student athletes and also a place to earn a great education.
With that being said, since the origination of the Winter Classic held on New Year's Day, talks had begun about a potential matchup between two of the biggest rivals held at one of the biggest stadiums. Which also could be a neutral field.

The 2023 Winter Classic has already been announced the Penguins will be "Shipping up to Boston" to play the Bruins at Fenway Park, but when do we get to see it? When do we finally get to see the dream matchup? I'm not talking Fenway hosting Pens and Bruins.
I'm talking about the battle of Pennsylvania.
If you're talking about hockey in the northeast, you have to mention the possibility and anticipation for this matchup. Despite the two teams having a combined four appearances in the Winter Classic since its inception, we've never seen the Flyers and Penguins do battle on one of the biggest stages that the sport has to offer.
Both teams have hosted the Winter Classic with the Penguins hosting at Heinz Field in 2011 and the Flyers hosting at Citizens Bank Park in 2012. Beaver Stadium, at State College can hold a seating capacity of over 106,000 and would be a great neutral venue for these two teams to face off at.
But there is always a downfall...
Parking would be a challenge for an outdoor game at Beaver Stadium, and so would timing. The winterizing that Beaver Stadium undergoes, the optimum time to play the game would be in December � ahead of Jan. 1, which is the official kickoff for the NHL's outdoor games.

That's also without accounting for the cost of security, which we imagine for a Flyers/Penguins outdoor game would be at a one-to-one ratio Not joking.
Flyers Vs. Penguins- Beaver Stadium. Winter Classic 2024. Neutral ground. One hell of a game. It's time to make it happen.
