Until Gaudreau signs with the Flames - or another team - a lot of speculation will occur. He never hid his desire to play with the Flyers, but at the end of the day, he will sign with the team that will give him the better arguments to sign with them...
However, organizations that are planning to pursue him now know how much he will command on his next contract. According to Giana Han, the Flames forward could ask between 9 and 10M$ annually...
For those who are afraid to see him re-sign in Calgary, the Flames will not have a lot of free cap space this summer. But we can say the same for the Flyers, as Chuck Fletcher will have to operate with only 5.1M$. He will of course try to make some moves to give him some breathing room, but it will not be easy.
This season, Gaudreau registered 115 points in 82 games.
