We now know the contract offer the Flyers made to Ristolainen

Also, his style of play suited for the playoffs could help in order to increase his value on the market.

With that being said, the Flyers did offer an extension to Ristolainen.

The offer? A 6 years, $37.8M contract. That's a lot, especially for a team that didn't make the playoffs in three of the last six years. At this price, acquiring Jeff Petry makes far more sense than giving this kind of extension to Rasmus Ristolainen.
