With a new regular season coming some General Managers and Head Coaches are on short leashes.

A couple of general managers that come to mind of course Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Chuck Fletcher, who didn't make any significant moves to improve the Flyers after a terrible 2021-22 season. Fletcher had Johnny Gaudreau one of the best players in the league wanting to come to Philadelphia but Fletcher couldn't make the deal.

The other General Manager that could be in bigger trouble than Fletcher is Lou Lamoriello. The New York Islanders did close to nothing in this crazy off-season. They two were in talks to get Johnny Gaudreau, Sportsnet Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman even was tweeting that Johnny Hockey could end up in Long Island that obviously didn't come to futition Gaudreau signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Lamoriello also had a second chance with free agent Nazem Kadri. It was all over the internet that Kadri was going to The Islanders and Kadri ended up out of nowhere signing with the Calgary Flames.
The only impactful thing Lamoriello did was trade their 13th overall pick away to the Montreal Canadians for Alexander Romanov.
Don't be surprised if you see Lou Lamoriello's name come up as the first General Manager fired this season if the Islanders start the season losing.
