In an article posted on brotherlypuck.com, Dan Esche discusses who the Flyers should keep, sell and who the untouchables are. More notably, Esche writes that the Flyers should figure out a way to trade Sean Couturier.

Couturier recently signed a new 62 million dollar contract last summer. Esche writes, «Hands down the biggest mistake made during Chuck Fletcher's stint as Flyers GM.» Fletcher overestimated the Flyers potential. Signing Ellis and Ristolainen was a sign for good things to come. Perhaps even a deep playoff push. But with the team sitting last in the metropolitan and having lost two straight, a rebuild is probably on the way.
«Even with the contract, he's one of the more valuable pieces the Flyers have in their possession and may be better off selling him for a lesser price and putting the entire last era of Flyers hockey to bed,» said Esche. Even with that contract in place, surely some team will have interest in Couturier. His injury however, now makes moving him sooner rather than later difficult.
Even with his injury concerns, Couturier is still immensely valuable and would have probably made team Canada's Olympic roster had the NHL participated.

Other names Esche would like to see sold are Konecny, Laughton, Sanheim, Ristolainen and if a smart offer is made, even Provorov. Captain Claude Giroux is almost certain to leave this deadline and with the season a bust, a reshape is what most fans want to see.

The only two untouchables according to the article should be Carter Hart and Cam York. The team still needs some veterans around to help guide the youth so we'll have to wait and see who leaves and who stays. The deadline is on Mar. 21 2022.
