Should the Flyers trade Ivan Provorov? It's a debate going on amongst Philadelphia Flyers fans because the defenseman has been catastrophic recently and his play has just kept on downgrading. Nevertheless, the Russian number #9 is a good defenseman when paired with the right player. He's managed to register 30+ points during three seasons with the Flyers and he's just 25 years old.

Provorov has a lot of trade value and if he's traded, it would allow Flyers to get a very good player in return. There is definitely a market for defensemen before the playoffs, especially for a young player like him with an impressive work rate. Furthermore, if there is a position where Philly don't lack players, it's left-handed defenseman. If Provorov were to be traded, Travis Sanheim or Cam York could take his place and be able to perform better than him.
However, Flyers fans know that he has value and he's a good player. During the 2019-2020 season, he scored 17 goals and finished with 41 points while being paired up with Matt Niskanen. The question is whether or not Provorov can perform once again at his best if Fletcher finds the right man to pair him with?
If Philadelphia were to trade him and not give him a chance, Provorov is likely to become like all the other ex-Flyers that have succeeded after leaving the city of brotherly love. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.
