The Flyers are in a weird place with longtime captain Claude Giroux, now in Ottawa after previously playing for the Panthers after a trade deadline move.

Philadelphia has some great prospects developing, and some on the cusp of making the NHL, but with new players coming in, the cap needs to balance and that means players moving out of Philly.
There are three players who could seemingly sit comfortably on a list of players the organization could move on from.
James Van Riemsdyk:
Must read on FlyersInsider
He provides an interesting package of size, skill and experience upon arrival to whichever teams he plays for, and could be a nice addition to a team primed for a Stanley Cup run looking to take on a rental player.
JVR, 33, plays a grind you down, in your face style and gives opposing defenders and goaltenders fits with his large frame and knack for coralling pucks while in tight to the crease.
The forward played a full 82 games in 2021-22, which saw him score 24 goals and 14 assists for 38 points.
The defenceman came over from the Predators after playing his whole career in Nashville up to that point, and the veteran still has plenty in the tank to aid a team to a potential Stanley Cup berth in 2022-23.
Ellis, 31, played four games with the Flyers in 2021-22, while battling injuries and while he is no Cale Makar, he can provide a steady presence with spades of experience on whichever blueline he plays for.
The Hamilton, Ontario., native plays a steady game predicated on smart plays, smooth skating mechanics and quick, heads-up plays in transition. Ellis is no offensive dynamo, but he can run a powerplay, with his fine playmaking skills, deceptive shots and smart decision making.
This is an interesting one, as Konecny is to the Flyers what Gallagher, Pageau, Brendan Lemieux and prior to his retirement Dustin Brown are to their teams. Gritty, fearless and chirpy without hesitation, he will go to battle in the trenches every game.
Konecny skates well, makes smart plays and has a great skillset, which round-out a nice package for a contender looking to add a forward ahead of their Stanley Cup run.
The 25-year-old has played his entire career in Philadelphia, since being drafted out of the OHL from the Ottawa 67's in the 2015 NHL Draft with the 25 overall selection. He has played 425 games over seven seasons in Philadelphia, the forward has scored 110 goals and 161 assists for 271 points.
Of the three players, who do you feel is most likely to be traded? If there's another player who should've been on the list, please comment below.
