"Goaltender Anthony Stolarz has not played at any level yet this season but is about to change. The Flyers announced this morning that the young goaltender has been loaned by the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
The Phantoms have done quite well this season with the goaltending tandem of Dustin Tokarski and John Muse, so there is not much playing time to be had at the AHL level. Putting Stolarz into the middle of a stretch run to the Calder Cup playoffs after not seeing any type of game action in nearly a year is not an ideal situation.
Stolarz will now be able to get his bearings back at the ECHL level and if he plays well enough he can be recalled back to the AHL for the Phantoms postseason run.
The Flyers have loaned goaltender Anthony Stolarz from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, to their ECHL affiliate, the Reading Royals.
