"The Philadelphia Flyers had two first round picks lined up for the NHL Draft Friday night thanks to the Brayden Schenn trade from last summer.
Their first pick of the night was the 14th overall pick thanks to St.Louis and they took Joel Farabee from the US Development program.
With their second pick of the night at #19, the Flyers took Jay O'Brien.
O'Brien is a 5'11"" 176lb center, and hasn't played in the NCAA yet, but he's committed to Providence College for next year.
Flyers general manager Ron Hextall called it a bit of a stretch compared to the consensus rankings but they liked his character, speed and room to grow.
He's a center which adds to the great Flyers center depth. "
