"Petr Mrazek has not stabilized the Philadelphia Flyers net like Ron Hextall had hoped when acquired him from the Detroit Red Wings in February. Michael Neuvirth made his return to action last week but re-injured himself during his first game back. He is officially listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury and is not expected to play again during the final week of the regular season. Mrazek will start tomorrow afternoon against the Boston Bruins with Alex Lyon backing him up. The Flyers could get a huge boost as they likely head towards the Stanley Cup playoffs as Brian Elliot is on track for a return in the very near future. Elliot was a full participant in practice this morning for the first time since his surgery on February 13 to repair a core muscle. He will not be in uniform tomorrow, but he is hopeful to play before the regular concludes next weekend. "I've never had a surgery before so it's a new process for me and it's a tough time of year because there's a possibility of coming back at the end and you're shooting for it," Elliott told Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post. "It was pretty traumatic but everything's strong in there and things are holding up. Now it's just a question of feeling comfortable in vulnerable positions and in a goalie you're always in those situations." If the Flyers hang on for a postseason berth, who should be the number one goaltender?"
