"If you couldn't stay up late last night, you missed the Philadelphia Flyers take down the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 thanks to first period goals from Claude Giroux and Ivan Provorov.
The captain's opening goal, a one-timer from the left dot over the shoulder of Andrew Hammond, was set up perfectly by Shayne Gostisbehere. Both Giroux and Gostisbehere hit personal milestones with the tally.

The goal was Giroux's 93rd point on the year, which ties his single-season career high set back in 2011-12. He is also one goal away from tying his career high water mark of 28 also set back in the 2011-12 season. Giroux will have four games to try to eclipse those marks.
With the primary assist, Gostisbehere became just the fourth defenseman in Flyers franchise history to score 60 points in a season. Hall of Famer Mark Howe did it three times, Gerry Galley twice and Behn Wilson accomplished the feat in the 1980-81 season.
The Flyers also set a team record by blocking a total of 33 shots in their win. Andrew MacDonald led the way with seven blocked shots while Jordan Weal, Provorov and Gostisbehere all blocked five shots apiece. "
