"Travis Konency had himself a very interesting night versus the New York Rangers on Thursday night. He scored two goals and was named the First Star of the Game in the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 win, however he was barley seen in the third period. Konecny was only given four shifts for a grant total of 2:28 during the final period and was replaced by Matt Read on the majority of the first line's shifts. "He wasn't taking care of the puck very well," head coach Dave Hakstol said, per the Courier-Post. "Defensively, some of the things in the D-zone…individuals have got to be better at this time of the year in how we manage the puck and how we take care of it and the mentality that we're going to do things with." Getting his ice time cut during the course of the game is nothing new for Konecny. He realizes that even with how good he has been this, he still has a lot to learn at the NHL level. "It's just about getting the two points," Konecny said. "We're going to make sure that defensively we're going to take care of pucks and little things like that. It's just part of buying in and doing things for the team. I have no problem with it. It's a matter of getting the two points. If that's the way we got to win, we'll do that every time." What do you think about Travis Konecny's third period benching?"
