Another week sees another edition of the NHL power rankings. From a new team sitting in the number one spot to a Flyers bitter rival cracking the top five, the NHL season is in full swing and the push for a postseason run for a number of teams have begun. As the Flyers begin their push, they did see a fall in the rankings but analysts are saying rest assured, the Flyers still control their own destiny.

Previously, the Flyers were just outside the top ten, looking to crack into that list as they sat at the 12 spot. This week, after an overtime loss in Toronto and a 6-3 loss to the New Jersey Devils in the Stadium Series, the Philadelphia Flyers dropped two spots, sitting at 14 in the rankings.
What is most interesting, is the potential the Flyers still have to reach that top ten spots, sitting in front of them stand the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Vegas Golden Knights, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. All teams the Flyers can compete with.
In the power rankings, bleacher report still remained positive on the remainder of the season for the Flyers, attributing the confidence to the head coach John Tortorella who has seemed to get the most out of this roster.
"Coach John Tortorella's team isn't the most talented, but it's probably not surprising they do the little things well. The Flyers entered Wednesday second in the NHL in penalty-killing success (86.4 percent), first in shorthanded goals (13) and fourth in blocked shots (1,011).

The Flyers prepare for a big one on Saturday afternoon as they welcome arch rival New York Rangers to Philly for a primetime ABC matchup at 2:00p.m.
