The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher got an early start on free agency when they traded for negotiating rights to pending free agent Kevin Hayes. Most presume that Hayes will sign with Philly because of his relationship with Alain Vigneault but that could be far from the case. During their latest "31 Thoughts" podcast, Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek mentioned they're not so confident that Hayes will sign with Philly. They both labelled the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks to be some of his preferred spots. Friedman added that Fletcher is under immense pressure from Comcast to get things going and make moves as they're tired of losing and thats' why the Flyers gave up a 5th round pick for Hayes' rights. There's still plenty of time to get a deal done with Hayes. This will definitely be an interesting story to follow in the coming weeks.
