"Late last night the Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher pulled off a late night trade. The Flyers acquired the negotiating rights to pending free agent Kevin Hayes from the Winnipeg Jets for a 5th round pick. We've seen teams acquire negotiating rights before and the player choosing free agency anyways, however because of Hayes' previous working relationship with new head coach Alain Vigneault, the Flyers were hopefull they made the right move. It would give the Flyers an early jump on July 1st free agency and more negotiating room with other free agents with Hayes already in the bag.And it looks like it's just that, in the bag. According to Brandon Sommermann of PhillyFanLife, the two sides are closing in on a multi year deal worth around $6million a season. The 27 year old scored 19 goals last year in a season split between the Rangers and Jets and scored 25 goals during the 2017-18 season. What do you think of the reported contract?
