"Monday was a very busy day across the National Hockey League with trade deadline. Flyers general manager Ron Hextall decided the price of poker was too high and did not make any trades after acquiring goaltender Petr Mrazek over a week ago. He did claim veteran defender Johnny Oduya to add some depth to the blue line. You many have noticed that the Flyers also sent both Oskar Lindblom and Alex Lyon down to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League only to recall them later in the afternoon. These "paper moves" were made in order to have Lindblom and Lyons on the AHL rosters when the trade deadline passed so they will be eligible to play in the Calder Cup playoffs. In fact, there were 40 players across the league sent down and the recalled yesterday. We are getting to the point of the season where both the Flyers and Phantoms should expect to participate in the NHL and AHL playoffs respectively. If you check the standings, both teams are in first place of their divisions which is very impressive this late in the season. Even the Reading Royals of the ECHL is well on their way to making the Kelly Cup playoffs as well! Could be a very busy spring for the Flyers organization! "
