As the NHL season continues to wind down with less than a dozen games left, flyers fans continued to sit and watch as the team battles out to remain in their playoff spot as they have faltered as of recently.

The players have certainly given the fan base a bonus year as they were slated not to make the playoffs at all. With head coach John Tortorella managing his bench with many questioning his measures, it seems that he is producing wins and keeping the team afloat.
It's becoming clear that this will be a photo finish for numerous Eastern Conference teams including the Flyers as many of them have caught up to the organization and are within a few points of one another. The Flyers currently sit in 3rd of the metro division; however, the Lightning, Capitals, Red Wings and Islanders are within striking distance of the Flyers.
With a record of 36-26-9 for 81 points through 71 games, the Flyers remaining games will be facing off against many weaker opponents but with key matchups against the Panthers, Rangers and the capitals, those wins will be critical to solidifying their spot.
The Flyers will be at home to take on the high-flying Florida Panthers as game time will be 6:00 PM eastern.
