The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to bolster their blueline this offseason and have been heavily attached to Columbus Blue Jackets' dman Seth Jones. Jones has already informed the Blue Jackets that he won't be signing a contract with the Blue Jackets next offseason and would prefer to hit free agency. Many believe the timing of the announcement is a tactic by Jones to force a trade this offseason. At 26 years old, Jones will likely bring quite the haul in for the Blue Jackets so the Flyers might be changing direction. The Carolina Hurricanes have given permission to defenseman Dougie Hamilton permission to talk to other teams ahead of free agency this offseason as he'll be one of the hottest UFA's on the market. This would give the Hurricanes the opportunity to trade him to a team before free agency and get some kind of return instead of walking for free to free agency.NHL insider Mike Johnston of Sportsnet has labelled the Flyers as one of the top destinations for Hamilton and likely because they could pivot from Jones. "The Flyers are going to be in on Jones, too, so in theory they'd be interested in Hamilton. Elliotte Friedman wrote in his latest 31 Thoughts column that he's hearing "the Flyers' defensive targets seem to be elsewhere," however when betting odds for Hamilton's next team were released the Flyers topped the list."
Do you think Jones or Hamilton would be a better fit for the Flyers?
