The Flyers continued to defy odds as they roll past their third victory in a row against the Seattle Kraken tonight winning the game 3-2. That win, has put the Flyers in 3rd place of the Metropolitan Division with 62 points and holding that spot with 8 points.
With the team getting back on track and head coach John Tortorella enjoying what he's seeing, the Flyers received more good news when it was announced that the Carter heart cap relief has taken full effect and now the Flyers have $7.9 million in cap space to work with at the deadline.
Saying this, it certainly puts the Flyers in an interesting position going into March 8th. Would the fans be able to handle a teardown of the team and sell off parts while being in a playoff spot? I don't think so.

Or have Flyers management recognized their team is better than they thought and decide to use their cap space to acquire more talent for the long term?
The Flyers have kept
Ryan Ellis' contract only an injury reserve which means it could be placed into long term injury reserve which gives them another $6.25 million to work with. The would give GM Danny Briere more options and flexibility to improve the team.
With Torts in charge of the bench and having major say with the management team, I would expect the team to be buyers and sellers at this trade deadline.
