The Philadelphia Flyers looked pretty pedestrian during their playoff run after dominating the league at the end of season. One thing that was missing was goal scoring, struggling to put the puck in the net against both the Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders. Honestly, if it wasn't for a couple of lucky bounces, the Flyers might never have got passed the Canadiens. That's why Sam Carchidi of The Inquirer believes one of the Flyers' offseason targets will be a goal scoring specialist. Mike Hoffman will be UFA after two years in Florida and he'll draw some attention on the open market as a goal scoring and power play specialist. The 30 year old registered 29 goals and 59 points in 69 games this past season which included 21 power play points after registering 70 points and 36 goals in 82 games last season which included 35 power play points and 17 power play goals. Hoffman is coming off a deal that saw him earn $5.187million per season. If the team can find a way to move James van Riemsdyk, Hoffman would definitely be a huge upgrade and give a nice boost to the teams lack of goal scoring.
