While the Philadelphia Flyers continue their goalie struggles at an NHL level, the hype around one of their goalie prospects continue to build. There's already been some rumblings about how 2016 second round pick Carter Hart has jumped Alex Lyon on the depth chart and those rumblings might get bigger. The 19 year old Hart made WHL history as he was named the 2017-18 Del Wilson Memorial Trophy winner which is awarded to the league's top goalie, it's the first time a goalie has won the award three times. He had a great season as he tied the record for all time shutouts after putting up seven during the 2017-18 season which saw him put up some incredible numbers, a 1.60 goals against average and .947 save percentage in 41 games. Hart's team is currently close to earning themselves a trip to the memorial cup. When asked about if Hart could skip the AHL and jump to the NHL, general manager Ron Hextall gave a pretty interesting answer. "I have no idea," Hextall said last week if Hart needs a full season with the Phantoms. "That's a hypothetical question. Everyone will be given that opportunity. We don't pre-determine decisions. I'm not going to sit here right now and say, Any young player's not going to play for our team.' We're not going to sit here and say who will or who won't. That's not fair."
