"The Philadelphia Flyers are in a nice position heading into the 2018 NHL Draft. The team has two first round picks at 14 and 19 thanks to the St. Louis Blues and the trade made last summer. While having two first round picks is nice, draft picks after the top 10 are usually a crap shoot, nothing is guaranteed, and general manager Ron Hextall is well aware of that. According to Dave Isaac the Flyers are ready to package both those picks to move up in the draft. While it's highly unlikely that the Buffalo Sabres let go of their first overall pick, other teams might be willing to let go of their picks if a player is thrown in. Could this be the year that forward Wayne Simmonds is packaged? Simmonds has been rumoured to be on the move for what feels like two seasons now and it might happen. Who the Flyers like at the top of the draft is a big guess, however Boston University's Brady Tkachuk definitely fits the pedigree that Flyers fans love so much.
Oh, and bet on #Flyers packaging No. 14 and No. 19 and moving up. Not sure who they'd target (BUF won't move No. 1) but I'd think they at least try to move up. — Dave Isaac (@davegisaac) April 29, 2018
