While the focus continues to be on the negotiations between pending free agent Kevin Hayes and Philadelphia Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher, there's still much more to do. Fletcher's offseason checklist includes more than just Hayes and Matt Niskanen and one of the things he needs is a backup goalie. The Flyers are expected to let all three of Michal Neuvirth, Cam Talbot and Brian Elliott walk during the offseason and it's unlikely the team will go with 26 year old Alex Lyon as Carter Hart's backup goalie. Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports that Fletcher will likely find the backup solution through trade and has already spoken to a couple of teams. Among the teams we find the Florida Panthers who have been labeled as one of the front runners for pending free agent Sergei Bobrovsky. James Reimer could be the Flyers backup goalie when the 2019-20 season begins and it wouldn't be far fetched as he would come cheap with the Panthers trying to free up cap space. He's got two more years left on his deal that carriers a $3.4million cap hit per season.
