"Philadelphia Flyers goaltending has been talked about quite a bit of late. Prospect Carter Hart is dominating the Western Hockey League and is leading Team Canada in their hopes for a World Junior Championship gold medal in Buffalo.
Before the Flyers return to practice today, they activated Michal Neuvirth from injured reserve on Tuesday afternoon. The also returned Alex Lyon back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League. Lyon spent the last 11 games on the NHL roster, but he did not get on the ice.
Neuvirth has not played since November 28, but he will help keep Brian Elliott fresh as the Flyers push for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. He is 2-5-1 with a 2.65 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage this season.
The #Flyers have loaned goaltender Alex Lyon to the @LVPhantoms and activated goaltender Michal Neuvirth from injured reserve.
