"Travis Konecny missed today's morning skate after blocking a Jeff Petry shot off his left foot during the first period of Monday night's overtime win against the Montreal Canadiens. Thankfully, the injury does not appear too serious as Konency is considered probable for tomorrow night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Taylor Leier filled in for Konecny on the top line this morning and after being a healthy scratch for the last seven games, he is itching to get back into the lineup.
"I would take any spot in the lineup right now," Leier said, per Sam Carchidi of philly.com. "I've been ready the whole year, and nothing has really changed day to day for me. I've tried to keep the same routine, whether I'm in or out, and I think that helps a lot mentally and kind of keeps you in a rhythm."
After three fairly productive years with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Leier has spent the entire season with the Flyers. He has just one goal and five points in his 35 games on the year.
Even with Konecny likely playing, Leier still might be in tomorrow's lineup. Jori Lehtera missed today's practice and his status against the Blue Jackets is uncertain. "
