The Flyers took on the Rangers in a hard fought battle last night losing 6-5 in overtime.
The two teams made NHL history by having 4 game-tying goals in the third period which has only been done twice before last night.
The first time this happened was in 1975 in a game between the Capitals and Penguins, while the last time it happened was in 1988 when the Blackhawks and Blues played each other.
Quite the note from NHL's morning email: "Rangers and Flyers combined to produce the third game in NHL history to feature 4 game-tying goals in the third period. Washington and Pittsburgh first achieved the feat on 11/12/75, while Chicago and St. Louis later did so on 3/15/88."
Fans may be in luck for a fun first round matchup between these two teams if the Flyers drop into the last wild card position in the East.
