"The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to make some offseason additions, but what about the subtractions?Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher already moved out Wayne Simmonds at the NHL trade deadline, who could be next? We've heard some rumours about various players in regards to possible trades but what about a buyout? When it comes to a possible buyout all fingers are pointed at one specific defenseman.Andrew MacDonald. While MacDonald only has one year left on his deal, it's clear that MacDonald's time in Philly has run out. Jonathan Willis of The Athletic lists MacDonald as one of the top buyout candidates this offseason, #4 to be exact:""As late as January, MacDonald was averaging 18 minutes per game for the Flyers. In February that fell to 14:23, and by March he was a frequent healthy scratch and even when he did play it was even money that he'd get 10 minutes of ice time.
Philadelphia has enough money to play with this summer that it could theoretically just let the last year tick off MacDonald's deal, but why bother? Not only do the Flyers have plenty of defencemen to take his minutes, but his actual value is far lower than the replacement cost associated with a buyout.""Do you think the Flyers should just cut ties with the 32 year old?
