"Philadelphia Flyers top prospect, Samuel Morin's injury plagued season is officially over. The 6'7 defenseman will have knee surgery and won't be available for the rest of the AHL playoffs. The soon to be restricted free agent missed 3 1/2 months because of a groin injury and was injured during the Lehigh Valley Phantom's conference semi finals. "He'll have the surgery once the swelling goes down in his knee," Phantoms coach Scott Gordon said Wednesday.
Morin was expected to make the Flyers lineup next season, however the surgery will definitely have an effect on that expectation. The 23 year old brings a great physical presence on the blue line and is very productive on the penalty kill.
Samuel Morin's season is over and he will have knee surgery. Tough break for the 6-7 D-man who has had a series of injuries this season. #Flyers
