While the Philadelphia Flyers have been out of the playoffs, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms have been rolling through the AHL playoffs. Unfortunately, the team lost a key part of their blueline last week in Travis Sanheim. The 22 year old was involved in a nasty collision with Charlotte Checkers forward Valentin Zykov on May 5th and had to be helped off the ice. Following the incident, Flyers general manager Ron Hextall simply stated "We don't give updates on Phantoms". Phantoms head coach Scott Gordon wouldn't give out any details but stated that Sanheim would definitely be out for the rest of the series. Reporter Tim Panaccio states that Sanheim has suffered an MCL knee sprain. Good news considering that many feared an ACL injury. Check out the play in the video below:
