"Following the Philadelphia Flyers elimination from the Stanley Cup playoffs, the team has been receiving some great news from some of their prospects in the system. Forward Matthew Strome is headed to the Memorial Cup as is forward German Rubstov, along with their success, two Flyers goalies prospects have been shinning strong. Alex Lyon has been a machine for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and despite his team's recent elimination, Carter Hart, has been unbelievable for the Everett Silvertips in the WHL playoffs. At 19, Hart probably won't be on the Flyers roster next year, it should be a different story for Lyon. The 25 year old Lyon looked ready during his brief appearance with the Flyers this season (4-2-1 2.75 GAA .905 save %) and has been incredible for the Phantoms during their playoff run (6-1-0 1.49 GAA .959 save %), stats which definitely make Michal Neuvirth expendable. Sam Carchidi of Philly.com believes Neuvy will be moved this summer and Lyon will be made Flyers backup, only problem is that Carchidi doesn't believe there's much demand for Neuvirth out there.
I think they will try to deal Neuvy and make Lyon the backup. Neuvy not exactly in demand. https://t.co/VI2nJxFTdN — Sam Carchidi (@BroadStBull) May 13, 2018
