"Earlier this summer we heard that the Philadelphia Flyers were in pursuit of a KHL free agent. Power forward Anton Burdasov wants to make the jump to the NHL and the Flyers along with the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers were the teams showing the most interest. Burdasov is a big body who can hit as he stands at 6'2"" and weighs in at 234lbs. The right winger led the KHL in penalty minutes last year with 114 in 50 games played and registered 19 goals as well. Some reports indicate he'll only sign with an NHL team that can guarantee him top nine minutes and while the top six is pretty much spoken for in Philly, Burdasov could look good on Nolan Patrick's wing on the third line. However it doesn't look like that will happen. According to Sam Carchidi, the Flyers have told Burdasov's camp they're no longer interested and won't be adding anymore players to their current roster group. While his style of play might fit what Flyers' fans love, his cap hit probably doesn't fit in as the team still needs to sign Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov. With reports that Provorov is seeking $10million a season, there simply isn't enough money to go around to bring in Burdasov.
