"The Philadelphia Flyers are fighting tooth and nail to try and get into the playoffs. While it's a bit of a long shot, they made the same type of massive turnaround last year and could do it again. However this year it might have to be without forward Wayne Simmonds who continues to be mentioned in trade rumors more often than talks of a contract extension. With the rumors really building over the last week, Simmonds was asked about how he's dealing with it. "I don't pay attention to it. I don't watch that (expletive) right now," Simmonds said. "I just focus on what I've got to do on the ice and helping the Flyers win hockey games. "I'm a Philadelphia Flyer, right? I've been here for eight seasons and I'd like to continue on longer here but whatever happens, happens. All I can do is focus on doing my job. Right now, that's with the Flyers. We're fighting tooth and nail for every point we can get to make a comeback here."Simmonds is a big a part of the locker room as anybody and for now remains loyal to his boys. "These are my boys. I've been here for eight years," Simmonds said. "I've played with some of them for eight years, played with the younger guys since they've come in. There's no disconnection. It doesn't feel like that. I feel like these are my boys. I'm gonna go out there and I'm gonna battle, fight and claw and do everything within my power." If Simmonds is moved, it'll be hard to come across another player that wore his heart on his sleeve like Simmonds. "
