Former Philadelphia Flyer Jeff Carter has retired at the age of 39. Jeff Carter was drafted by the Flyers in the 1st round, 11th overall in the 2003 NHL draft. He played for the Flyers from 2005-2011 in which he played 461 games and scored 181 goals and 162 assists.

Carter had 343 points (181 G, 162 A) in 461 games with Philadelphia from 2005-2011. He helped the Philadelphia Phantoms win the 2005 Calder Cup and had a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2010.

The #Flyers 2003 11th overall pick had 851 points in 1,321 NHL games with LA, PHI, PIT, and CBJ.
For his career, he played in a total of 1,321 NHL games with Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Columbus Blue Jackets and finished with 442 goals and 409 assists. His best years came in Philadelphia, including the 2008-2009 season when he scored a career high 46 goals. Jeff Carter was surprisingly traded after the 2010-2011 season to the Columbus Blue Jackets, a trade that included Jakub Voracek in return for the Flyers.
For Jeff Carter's career, he won the Calder Cup with the Philadelphia Phantoms in 2005 then helped the Flyers reach the 2010 Stanley Cup in which they lost to the Chicago Blackhawks in 6 games. With the Los Angeles Kings, he was able to win the 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cups and won the gold medal with Team Canada in the 2014 Olympics. It is safe to say that Jeff Carter had a long and successful hockey career.
