New Jersey native Johnny Gaudreau, who now plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets, just set an American record at the World Championship. Johnny Gaudreau recorded his 29th assist all time at the World Championship against Kazakhstan - which is now an all-time American assists record.

THE ALL-TIME RECORD BREAKER!

Johnny Gaudreau breaks the record for most points ever scored by an American player at the World Championship with a whopping 43 😱!

He also broke the all-time American assists record earlier in the game with 29! WHAT A DAY FOR JOHNNY HOCKEY!
Later in the game against Kazakhstan, Johnny Gaudreau set the all-time American points records at the World Championship with 43 points. This was a great day for Gaudreau, the former 40 goal scorer in the NHL. Gaudreau had a poor season this past season for his standards as he scored only 12 goals in 81 games. Hopefully for his sake, this tournament can help propel him to have a comeback season in 2024-2025.
