It's trade deadline season in the NHL and the Philadelphia Flyers are expected to be a team to make a number of moves, or at least appear as that is the case. With guys like Scott Laughton and Sean Walker on many teams radars, another Flyer has been added to the wishlist of a Western Conference contender who has been in contact with Danny Briere frequently as of late.
It's no secret that the Vancouver Canucks are one of the best teams in the NHL, currently sitting atop the Western Conference with 76 points on 35 wins. With players like Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, and Thatcher Demko, it's no surprise that the Canucks have the top five best odds of winning the cup.
As Vancouver looks to add the finishing touches to their roster by the March 8 deadline, they have been in frequent contact with Flyers general manager Danny Briere. It has already been reported that Nick Seeler and Sean Walker have been targets for Vancouver, but a third Flyer has been added to their radar.
29-year-old defenseman and former top ten pick Rasmus Ristolainen has been rumored to be a name thrown around trade talks between Briere and the Canucks. Although Ristolainen has struggled the past month, he has shown this season that he still has great skating ability and has gotten his career back on track with John Tortorella.
If the Canucks make the right offer, Ristolainen could be off to Vancouver especially if Briere wants a first round pick. Briere could potentially deal a combination of both Risto and Walker or vice-versa to get more out of the deal.
