It was a rather special night last night when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms played against the Hershey Bears.

The Bears who were at home, scored the opening goal at 15 minutes and 45 seconds of the second to open the floodgates and watch 10s of thousands of teddy bears and stuffed toys raining down onto the ice of the Giant Center.
This is known as the annual teddy bear toss which includes many kinds of stuffed animals. The notion is that the hockey team will collect as many stuffed toys as they can to give to children for charity.

This year's donation broke the record as it was announced that 74,599 stuffed animals were tossed onto the ice which now set a new world record.
This drive has been going on since 2001 and during that time they have collected
380,508 toys for children.
After the stuffed animals cleared and the hockey game resumed, unfortunately The Phantoms lost 3-2.
