The Canadiens have clearly begun a rebuild process. Yesterday, they traded Tyler Toffoli to Calgary, which announced for sure in what direction the club will go for the next seasons.
This trade also freed up some cap space for Montreal. They have 8M$ available as of right now, but they'll get even more cap space when Ben Chiarot leaves. And it could happen very soon.
With all this space under the cap, Montreal could help the Avalanche to acquire Claude Giroux.
We don't see a lot of three-team trades in the NHL, but with how the market is this year, it's not impossible...
