ESPN released their weekly power rankings for all 32 NHL teams on Friday morning and ranked the Flyers as the 12th best team in the NHL.

Now if you have followed the Flyers this season at all, you have heard things like: "Exceeding Expectations, Young and Driven, and Buying into a system."
However, the Flyers are on a season best five-game winning streak, where they beat teams like Winnipeg (2-0 Shutout), and Dallas (complete domination outshot Dallas 43-15). They have the 2nd best Penalty Kill unit in the league with an 86.5 percent of penalties successfully killed off. They are third in the league in shots per game, with nine straight games with over 35 shots on net. They are tied for first in the league with 10 shorthanded goals. They have one of the best goalie tandems in the league, with both Carter Hart and Samuel Ersson playing at high level.

The one knock on the Flyers is their power play, which has been at the bottom of the league but has scored a power play goal in 5 of the last 6 games and with the addition of Jamie Drysdale has looked much more productive and cohesive.
Here is a look at the 11 teams in front of the Flyers and their record against these teams this season:
1. Jets (1-0)
2. Canucks (2-0 Season Sweep)
3. Bruins (0-0 not played yet)
4. Avalanche (1-0)
5. Panthers (0-0 not played yet)
6. Rangers (0-1)
7. Stars (1-1)
8. Hurricanes (1-2)
9. Golden Knights (1-1)
10. Oilers (1-1)
11. Maple Leafs (0-0)
12. FLYERS
They are 8-6 against the teams in front of them, however they are 4-0 against the top four ranked teams in this list. Some of these losses happened earlier in the season when Torts was still implementing his system with a band of players no one thought could break .500 this year. They just made the Dallas Stars look like a pee-wee hockey team, a team that Torts thinks might be the best in the league.
It's time the media and everyone else started giving the Flyers the respect they deserve and have worked for. They have put the NHL on notice, sit back and enjoy the show, Flyers fans!
