After writing a story regarding hunches and thoughts that the Flyers would make a major change in their management team, I woke up this morning seeing the notification on my phone that Chuck Fletcher is no longer the president and general manager of the Flyers. Well, no one is happy to see someone lose a job, this man did it to himself.
After weeks of speculation on who would be traded and who would stay and which direction this team wanted to go the Flyers continued to reel and be rudderless. the complete debacle that was known as the trade deadline for the Flyers sealed Fletcher's fate.
Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman during the 32 thoughts podcast, mentioned that Dave Scott who is CEO of the Flyers said the team is in a multi-year process.
Friedman also mentions that this is the first time in a generation or even a lifetime that the Flyers have decided to go through a full rebuild. This is the proper way to go especially with how the team is constructed and what is sorely lacking.
The team has a long road ahead with so much work to be done, the hope is that the Flyers will choose the proper people to put this team on the path back to success.
