General Manager Daniel Briere confirmed the signing, bringing in the 31-year-old player who spent the majority of the previous season with the Washington Capitals. In 59 games, Hathaway contributed 16 points and collected 52 penalty minutes.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 208 pounds, the native of Kennebunkport, Maine, has amassed 122 points and 490 penalty minutes in his 457 career NHL games over eight seasons with Calgary, Washington, and Boston. Prior to his NHL career, Hathaway played in the AHL for five seasons and served as an alternate captain for the Heat for two of those seasons.
