We are all agreeing to say that the most important thing for the end of this season is to prepare for the next one. It could be huge for the team to have the maximum of certainties. It also wouldn't hurt if players who had difficult seasons like Ivan Provorov or Travis Konecny could regain some confidence, which seems to be the case lately.

However, there's one thing that should worried the Flyers fanbase : the health of Ryan Ellis.
Again, in his post-trade deadline press conference, GM Chuck Fletcher didn't reveal much about the next steps in Ryan Ellis healing process. Of course, he's out for the rest of the season, but they still didn't decide on a potential surgery.

Knowing that, the team should be extremely careful before moving any defenseman during the offseason. That could also be one of the reason why Rasmus Ristolainen was extended. The right side of the defense isn't deep at all - even more with the departure of Justin Braun - and with the uncertainty surrounding Ellis, the Flyers just couldn't afford to lose Ristolainen.
Jamey Baskow asked the right question in his article.
"The questions will remain, what type of injury is it? Why didn't he have surgery sooner to ensure he would be ready for training camp? I mean these are valid, concerning questions. Is his injury career threatening? Who knows right, as he has a mysterious injury," said Baskow.

Even if Ellis played only 4 games this season, we all know how important he is. James Van Riemsdyk compared him to Matt Niskanen, and we all know how key he was in the play of Ivan Provorov.
At one point, we will really know what's up with Ellis. But let's admit that this situation is becoming more and more worrying.
