During the third period of the Flyers dominant win against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, the Philadelphia Flyers got extra insurance from Scott Laughton as he scored a penalty-shot goal to give the Flyers a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes to go in the game on Thursday night.

With that goal, the Flyers now lead the NHL in not only penalty shots taken, but penalty shots scored thus far in the 2023-24 season. Along with Travis Konecny and Sean Couturier, Scott Laughton became the third Flyer to convert on a penalty-shot this season.
Laughton's goal was a whirlwind of emotions as it initially looked like he waited too long to get his shot off against the goalie, but just in the knick of time Laughton slipped around the goalie and snuck it in the net as the Flyers cruised to their fifth straight victory on Thursday night.
Laughton has come alive the past few weeks between a big hit on Sidney Crosby and scoring a goal in two straight games, Laughton is up to 20 points so far on the season.
