After the Flyers snapped a four game losing skid on Saturday afternoon with a 3-2 win against the Calgary Flames, the team now shifts their focus to an action-packed week ahead. This upcoming week the Flyers take the ice four times in five days as they look to regain some momentum in the division standings.
Monday is sure to bring the energy at the Wells Fargo Center as Flyers fans welcome bitter their bitter rivals the Pittsburgh Penguins to Philadelphia for the second time this season. Although the Penguins have struggled a majority of the season, there is no question that both teams come ready to play when it's Flyers vs Pens. The Penguins have found some momentum as of late, winning four of their past six games including a 6-5 win against the NHL's top club in the Boston Bruins.
From there, the Flyers will host the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday before hitting the road once again. Montreal has been struggling as of late, losing four of their past six games. Wednesday's matchup will feature two teams desperate to build momentum as the NHL regular season heats up.
The Flyers will hit the road once again after Wednesday's matchup as they head to Minnesota to take on the Wild on Friday night. The Flyers will have the opportunity to face off against one of the best goaltenders in NHL history as Marc Andre Fleury just tied Patrick Roy for second all-time in wins by an NHL goaltender.
The week will conclude the very next night with on of the toughest matchups of the season for the Flyers as they head to Winnipeg to take on the first place Central Division leading Jets. If the Flyers can ride a three game win streak into their matchup in Winnipeg, the battle with the Jets could be a great litmus test for this Flyers team.
